Perry recipes

An alcoholic drink made from the fermented juice of certain types of pear and often referred to as ‘pear cider’.

Perry is a traditional drink in South West England, particularly Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

As well as English perry, there are pear ciders from France, Sweden and other countries.

Storage

Perry is not made for long-term keeping. Follow ‘best by’ dates and store in a cool, dark place.

Preparation

Perry can be used in cooking and pairs well with pork and poultry in particular. It can also be used as a basis for sauces and in desserts such as jellies.
