A traditional accompaniment to Christmas pudding and mince pies, brandy butter is made with unsalted butter, sugar and brandy. It can be bought ready-made in pots and jars or made at home.
Brandy butter is a Christmas star, but there’s no reason not to enjoy it at other times of the year if you wish, with a fruit strudel, for example.
Homemade brandy butter can be kept in the fridge for 2-3 weeks and will keep for a few months in the freezer. If bought ready-made, follow the advice on the label.
