Nori recipes

Paper-thin toasted sheets of seaweed (laver – also used in Wales, Scotland and Ireland) used in Japanese cooking for wrapping sushi. There are lots of different varieties – dark green is the most common, but it also can be black, purple or dark red and comes in varying thicknesses. Although it’s commonly used to roll sushi, it can also be crumbled over fish dishes and salads as a garnish. Make them more pliable for rolling by laying them on damp sheets of paper towel.


Nori sheets can be kept in the freezer; they thaw almost instantly when removed.
