Soda water is sparkling, highly carbonated water with a small amount of a sodium or potassium compound such as sodium bicarbonate or potassium bicarbonate. Carbon dioxide is forced into the mixture under pressure, and when this pressure is released, it comes out again in bubbles. In the US, soda water is also is known as seltzer.
